This is an original painting by the late William (Bill) Ord. A beautiful serene plain air landscape featuring a sunset scene near a pond, with foothills in the far distance. Incredible in person – a must see!
Colonel Willam B. Ord had a long career in the military, fought in WWII and later advanced the ranks to aerospace industry. As a talented painter, Bill loved Paris above all other cities. He spent hours studying Old Masters in the Louvre. When Parkinson’s made painting his favorite bluebonnet-swathed Central Texas landscapes difficult, he adapted, transforming his style to a more Impressionistic pointillism like that of Seurat. His paintings sold in galleries in Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and in Salado, Texas. After his retirement, Bill volunteered as an art instructor in the Dallas Public Schools and found a way to paint up until his death in 2012.
